Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before booking. They govern your relationship with Golden Moving LLC.
Last updated: January 1, 2025
These Terms of Service apply to all moving, packing, storage, and related services provided by Golden Moving LLC, located at 1200 Commerce Blvd, Nashville, TN 37203. For questions about these terms, contact us at hello@goldenmovingllc.com or call (888) 555-MOVE.
1. Service Agreement
By booking moving services with Golden Moving LLC ("Company", "we", "us"), you ("Customer") agree to these Terms of Service. This agreement governs all moving, packing, storage, and related services provided by the Company. A binding service agreement is formed when the Company confirms your booking and receives your deposit payment.
2. Estimates & Pricing
All written estimates are based on information provided at the time of booking. Final charges may vary based on actual hours worked, access conditions, additional items, stairs, long carries, and other factors disclosed on moving day. For hourly services, the clock begins when the crew departs our facility and ends upon return. Customers will be notified of any material deviation from the estimate before additional charges are applied.
3. Deposit & Payment
A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your moving date. The remaining balance is due upon completion of services on moving day. We accept all major credit cards and bank transfers processed securely via Stripe. Returned payments or declined charges will incur a $35 processing fee. Accounts unpaid for more than 30 days accrue interest at 1.5% per month.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Cancellations with more than 72 hours notice receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations between 48–72 hours prior to the move forfeit 50% of the deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours of the scheduled move time forfeit the full deposit. Rescheduling with at least 72 hours notice is free of charge. See our Cancellation Policy for complete details.
5. Liability & Valuation
All moves include Released Value Protection at no charge, which covers loss or damage at $0.60 per pound per article — the minimum level required by federal law for household goods moves. For full replacement value coverage, customers must purchase our Premium Coverage add-on prior to the move date. The Company is not liable for pre-existing damage, mechanical failure of electronics, items packed by the owner, or items of extraordinary value not disclosed at booking (jewelry, currency, collectibles, documents).
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are responsible for: (a) ensuring all items are accessible and ready for loading at the scheduled start time; (b) disclosing all specialty, fragile, or high-value items prior to booking; (c) obtaining proper parking permits or elevator reservations where required; (d) being present or having an authorized representative present for the full duration of the move; and (e) ensuring furniture that must be disassembled has been backed up of any content (drawers, shelves, file cabinets).
7. Items We Cannot Move
For safety and regulatory reasons, the Company cannot transport: hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, propane, ammunition), perishable food items, live plants (long-distance), live animals or pets, cash and financial instruments, illegal substances, and any item prohibited by state or federal law. Customers must remove these items before the crew arrives. Discovery of prohibited items during loading may result in the move being paused until items are removed.
8. Claims Process
All damage or loss claims must be submitted in writing within 9 months of the delivery date, as required by federal law for interstate moves (49 U.S.C. § 14706). For local moves, claims must be submitted within 30 days of the move date. Claims should be directed to hello@goldenmovingllc.com with photos, a description of damage, and the estimated replacement or repair value. The Company will acknowledge claims within 5 business days and resolve within 30 days.
9. Force Majeure
The Company is not liable for delays or inability to perform services caused by weather, natural disasters, government action, road closures, civil unrest, or other events outside our reasonable control. We will make every effort to reschedule affected moves at no rescheduling fee and notify customers as soon as possible.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from services provided shall first be submitted to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitration shall take place in Nashville, TN. Each party bears its own legal fees unless the arbitrator determines a claim was frivolous. Small claims court is available as an alternative for disputes under $10,000.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of TN, without regard to conflict of law provisions. For interstate moves, applicable federal regulations (49 CFR Parts 371, 375, 386–392) also apply. The Company holds USDOT #3287456 and complies with all applicable FMCSA regulations.
12. Amendments
The Company reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website. Bookings confirmed prior to a Terms update are governed by the Terms in effect at the time of booking. Continued use of our services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
